Charles E. "Ed" Northrup Sr. passed away Sunday, October 14 ^th , 2018 at the Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility in Warsaw. He was born in Arcade, February 20 ^th , 1933, son of the late Alden J. and Dorothy Owens Northrup. A lifetime resident of Wyoming County and 1951 graduate of Bliss High School, Ed worked for Lapp Insulator, moving on to form Top's Cleaning Services then Top's Carpet Shop, which he owned and operated from 1968 to 1997 from where he retired. He served his country honorably with the United States Army from 1952 to 1954. Ed was a member of St. Michael's Church, Walter Klein Post 532 of the American Legion, and the Warsaw Moose Lodge #560. He enjoyed shooting pool and played baseball for Bliss, Gainesville and Warsaw. He was predeceased by 3 brothers, Earl, Donald and Walter Northrup; and 2 sisters, Alberta and Aldina Northrup. Survivors include his loving wife, Rosaline Roncone Northrup of Warsaw, whom he married October 6 ^th , 1956; 2 sons, Charles (Diane Ashley) Northrup Jr. of Wyoming and Stephen (Cynthia Stanley) Northrup of Rochester; 3 sisters, Margaret Comstock of Wethersfield, Alice Jean Mould of Delevan, and Linda Harrington of Olean; 5 grandchildren, Ryan, Todd, Derick, Christina, and John Northrup; a great grand daughter, Sophia Northrup; and several nieces and nephews. A private memorial service will be held at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main St. Warsaw. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery.
