Catherine H. Jenkins, age 94, of Hermitage Rd., Wethersfield Springs, passed away Saturday, June 4th, 2016 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw. She was born in Canandaigua, November 19th, 1921, daughter of the late Robert and Mildred Smith Farnsworth. A 1939 graduate of Leavenworth High School in Wolcott, Catherine was a hard-working woman all of her life. During World War II, Catherine worked at a munitions factory in Canandaigua and then as a telephone operator in Sodus. After moving to the Warsaw area, she worked as a waitress for the Glenn Iris Inn. She was one of the first employees at Mallory Timers, and worked there until it closed. She also worked for Manor Oak and the Cloisters in Warsaw. Later, she worked as a home health aide for Dr. Clifford Harville and his wife, which she described as an honor. Catherine was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 560 in Warsaw. She was predeceased by her first husband, Claude J. LaWall, her second husband, Donald S. Jenkins, 3 children: Gerald, Calvin and Kimberly LaWall, a brother, Robert, and a sister, Anna. Survivors include 6 children: Ronald LaWall of Warsaw, Sherry (Paul) Snyder of Wasilla, AK, Sandra Lipshultz of St. Paul, MN, Randall (Glenda) LaWall of Nunda, Ted LaWall of Warsaw, and Christine (Martin) Werner of Varysburg, 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and a lifetime friend, William Follendorf. Friends of Catherine may call from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm, Wednesday, June 8th, 2016 at the Weeks Funeral Home, 123 N. Main St. Warsaw, NY 14569. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11am Thursday, June 9th, 2016 with Rev. Dr. Barbara Therese officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Park Cemetery in Wethersfield Springs.
