Carole Y. Smith, age 73, formerly of Warsaw passed away peacefully, Thursday, July 25 ^th 2019 at Absolut Care in Orchard Park surrounded by her loving family. Carole was born in Lewistown, Pennsylvania, July 12 ^th 1946, the daughter of the late Robert L. and Florence Howell Rager. A graduate of R.L. Thomas High School in Webster, NY, Carole last worked as a Certified Nurses Aide at Elderwood in Hamburg, NY. Raising her family was her main focus throughout the years and spending time with her grandchildren. Carole was a terrific cook who found great joy in providing home cooked meals for her entire family. She attended City Church in Batavia and enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening. Carole was preceded in death by a great grandson, Austin James Smith in 2013. Survivors include the father of her children, Stephen N. Smith of Mineral, Virginia, three sons; Donald (Kathy) Smith of Sardinia, Michael Smith of Collins, NY, Matthew (Renee) Smith of Milford, KS, two daughters; Kimberly (Christopher) Stoffer of Silver Springs, Karen (Joseph) Kehr of East Otto, NY, a sister, Gloria (Charles) Dennehy of Henrietta, a brother Paul (Diane) Rager of Winston Salem, NC, 15 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Friends of Carole Smith may call on Tuesday, July 30 ^th from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main Street Warsaw. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 31 ^st at 10am with Pastor Marty MacDonald of City Church as officient. Burial will follow privately for the family in the Dale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Carole's name to the Warsaw Rescue Squad at PO Box 22 Warsaw, NY 14569.
