Obituary

Carl E. Wass, age 77, of both Bushnell, FL and N. Maple St, Warsaw, passed away Thursday, March 24th, 2016 at the Leesburg Regional Medical Center. He was born in Hilton, September 20th, 1938, son of the late Walter and Lida Neidemeier Wass. A resident of Wyoming County since 1997, previously of Brockport, Carl worked as a Tool and Die Maker for Davenport Machine in Rochester from where he retired in 1997 after 32 years. Carl also drove for Wyoming Transit, Attica Bus, and Caring Hearts locally and in Florida, at the Red Oaks Campground. He enjoyed bowling, travel, yard work, and was a Boy Scout leader for Troop 111 in Brockport for many years. Carl was predeceased by his first wife, Mary VanWyngaarden Wass in 1995; a daughter, Sue Stewart; a son, Tom Scharet; a brother, John Wass; and a grandson, Anthony Pries. Survivors include his loving wife Eileen "Bonnie" Scharet Wass whom he married September 20th, 1997; 4 daughters, Jodi Wass of Gates, Mary Scharet of Warsaw, Lisa (Ken) Howe of Perry, and Joann (Bill) Pries of Perry; 2 sons, David (Holly) Wass of Holley and Russell (Terri) Scharet of Warsaw; a sister, Mary (Denis) Stone of Messina; 14 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 10am Tuesday, April 5th, 2016 at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main St. Warsaw. Burial will follow in the Lakeside Cemetery, Hamlin, NY.
