Carl P. Stoffer, age 87, of North Main Street Gainesville, died peacefully, Sunday, May 10th 2015 at the East Side Nursing and Rehabilitation in Warsaw. Carl was born in Wethersfield, March 17th 1928, the son of the late John and Gertrude Becker Stoffer. A 1946 graduate of Warsaw Central, Carl was a lifetime resident of Wyoming County. He owned and operated his own dairy farm in Wethersfield Springs for nearly fifty years and worked as a maintenance supervisor for the Wyoming County Highway Department for twenty years before retiring in 1994. Carl was a hard working family man who loved spending time with his grandchildren and his dog "Pebbles". He also enjoyed watching television, especially wrestling and the Springer and Maury shows. Carl is preceded in death by four brothers; Thomas, Anthony, Jack and Max Stoffer, and a sister; Mary Wassink. Survivors include his beloved wife of 66 years, Barbara A. Ikeler Stoffer, three sons; Patrick (Patricia) Stoffer of Texas, Thomas Stoffer of Gainesville, and Chris (Kimberly) Stoffer of Silver Springs, two sisters; Cecelia (Joseph) Daniel of Orangeville, Patricia (Robert) Everman of Nashville, TN, two brothers; Joseph (Polly) Stoffer of Warsaw, Peter (Janet) Stoffer of Conesus Lake, seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Friends of Carl P. Stoffer may call on Wednesday, May 13th at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main Street Warsaw from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, May 14th at 10am with Father James Hartwell of St. Michael's Church as celebrant.
