Bruce H. Burkley, age 80 of Center Street Warsaw passed away March 1st 2017 at home with his loving wife Elizabeth Drake Burkley by his side. Bruce was born in Allentown, PA, the son of the late Donald and Adeline Hunsicker Burkley. Bruce graduated from High School in Allentown where he began his extensive education in music. He earned a Bachelor of Music in Music Theory from Houghton College, a Master of Music in Composition and an Artist's Diploma in Composition from the Peabody Institute of the City of Baltimore Conservatory of Music. He was a Professor of Music in Music Theory and Appreciation at West Virginia's West Liberty State as well as the St. Paul Bible College in Minnesota. Bruce married his beloved wife of 54 years, Elizabeth Drake Burkley on October 20th 1962 in Hermitage, NY; and accompanied him to Cincinnati, OH where Bruce composed a piece performed by the Cincinnati Orchestra. Later on, Bruce worked as a piano tuner in Minnesota and locally as well as directing both Lutheran and Methodist choirs respectively. He was predeceased by a brother Henry "Hank".
