Bliss
Bonita A. Sheer, "Bonnie" age 82 of Maxwell Road, Bliss, New York passed away at home on Friday, May 23, 2025. She was born in Buffalo, December 4, 1942 a daughter of the late Edward Langenfeld and the late Alice Hamm Kellick. Bonnie graduated from Saint Elizabeth's School in Olean in 1960 and began a long history of hard work. She resided in Bliss since 2020 and previously in Orangeville. Bonnie began working at the Attica Central School as a Lunch Monitor and worked her way up to Teacher's Assistant and then on to a secretary to the school psychologist, the principal and the athletic director. She earned her retirement in 1988 and continued working with children through the local Head Start program in Warsaw for several years and even worked as the Deputy Historian for the Wyoming County Historical Society, writing several articles for the Historic Wyoming publication. A very caring and kind woman, Bonnie put others before herself. She was a great cook famous for her blueberry and apple pies with fruit picked from their own trees and bushes. Bonnie enjoyed garage sales, arts, crafts and antiques which she was an expert at repairing. She had an extensive doll collection and loved her pet birds. Family came first and she was loved by all who knew her.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her step-father, Donald (Naomi) Kellick.
She is survived by her loving, lifetime companion, Jack Glasser, with whom she spent the last 44 years. Additional survivors include her two sons, Randy Sheer of Castile, Daniel (Christina) Sheer of Bliss, two sisters, Diane (Stephen) Brady of Williamsville, Carol (Bill) McMahon of Hammondsport, a brother, Patrick (Elizabeth) Kellick of Tennessee, 8 grandchildren, Amy, Emily, Elizabeth, Megan, Cole, Connor, Ariana, and Colter Sheer.
5 great grandchildren and a great great grandson as well as many nieces and nephews. A private graveside service will be held in the Forest Hill Cemetery.
