Bernice E. McNair, age 84, of Ellicott Rd. Caledonia, died at home peacefully, Thursday, January 7th, surrounded by her daughters and faithful companion of many years, Frank. Bernice was born in Warsaw April 9th 1925, the daughter of the late John and Mabel Brown Herman. Bernice was a 1943 graduate of Avon High School. She was a lifetime resident of Pavilion and moved to Caledonia eight years ago. A former member of Pavilion Methodist Church, Bernice also dedicated many years to the Pavilion Fire Department's Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed dancing, bowling, playing cards, and will be remembered for her home made ginger snaps, chocolate chip cookies and sense of humor. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Charles M. McNair and five brothers; Jack, George, Fred, Chet, and Ray Herman. Survivors include four daughters; Nancy (Mark Moriarty) McNair of Warsaw, Pat (Tom) Hodge of Denton, TX, Barb (Jon) Kelley of Caledonia, Donna (Rick) Young of Norman, OK; three sisters, Helen Fuest of Warsaw, Mary (Harland) Page of Peoria, and Mabel Orman of Warsaw; a brother Paul (Esther) Herman of Perry; ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews survive. Friends of Bernice McNair may call on Monday, January 11th at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main St. Warsaw from 11am to 2pm and funeral services will be held at 2pm. Burial will be private in the Warsaw Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Livingston Co. Hospice Fund at Liv. Co. Health Dept. 2 County Campus Mt Morris, NY 14510 or the Caledonia Public Library at 3108 Main Street Caledonia, NY 14423.
