Warsaw-
Barbara Ann Wilkinson age 79, of Mt. View Ave. Warsaw, died peacefully at home, Thursday, May 31st, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Oklahoma City, OK, February 3rd, 1933, the daughter of the late Clyde and Juanita Bynum Newton. A lifetime resident of Wyoming County, Barbara worked at the Warsaw Knitting Mill before going on to work at the Warsaw Post Office from where she retired in 1996 after 26 years of service. Barbara was very proud of the fact that she was the first woman to work at the Warsaw location. She was a member of the Warsaw Moose Lodge #560 and enjoyed bowling, knitting and crocheting in her spare time. Barbara was a very loving mother and grandmother who will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her husband, William E. Wilkinson and her sister, Jean Dixon. Survivors include two sons; William (Diane) Wilkinson and Steven J. (Peggy) Wilkinson both of Warsaw, a Daughter; Kellie (Mike) Okoniewski of Hornell, eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Friends of Barbara Ann Wilkinson may call on Monday, June 4th from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Weeks Funeral Home, 123 N. Main Street, Warsaw. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 5th at 10am with Deacon John Kelly of St. Michael's Church as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Johnsonburg Cemetery beside her husband William. Memorial contributions may be made, in Barbara's name, to the Warsaw Rescue Squad at PO Box 22 Warsaw, NY 14569.
