Obituary

Mt. Morris-
Arthur L. Gell, age 62, of Columbus Ave., Mt. Morris. Passed away Saturday, September 22nd, 2012 at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris. He was born in Warsaw, June 10th, 1950, the son of the late Melvin and Wilma Phetterplace Gell. A lifetime resident of both Livingston and Wyoming Counties, Art worked as a truck driver for the Craig State School in Sonyea before retiring in 2005. He was a member of the American Legion Post #283 in Livonia and served his country honorably with the United States Navy from 1968 to 1969. Art was very dedicated and supportive to his family and grandchildren. He loved fishing, playing pool and cards, and crocheting blankets which he donated to charity. He was predeceased by 2 brothers, Charles and Clair Bookmiller and a grandson, Clinton Alexander. Survivors include 2 daughters, Evedne Gell and Mandy Root both of Mt. Morris; a son, Aaron (Samantha) Gell of Mt. Morris; 3 granddaughters, Emiley and Colbie Alexander, and Ashley Gell; 2 grandsons, Jordan Horner and Alex Gell; 2 sisters, Rebecca (Fred) Acevedo of Lyons and Anne Bookmiller of Silver Springs; and 2 brothers, Edward (Linda) Gell of Texas and Mark (Julie) Bookmiller of Lyons and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held for Art at 1pm, Saturday, October 13th, 2012 at the Hally-Allen Legion Post #1341 in Sonyea where full military honors will be rendered.
