Arthur P. Barr, age 75, of Miller Road, Silver Springs, passed away, Monday May 3 rd 2021 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw. Art was born in Punxsutawney, P.A., March 3 rd 1946, a son of the late Carl K. and Wynona H. Nicewonger Barr. Art graduated from Holland Central School in 1963 and went on to serve two tours in Vietnam with the United States Army. After returning to the States he went to work and began raising a family. He then chose to join the Air Force Reserves and continued serving for over 30 years until retiring as a Master Sergeant. He resided in Pike until moving to Silver Springs in 2007. Art worked for 30 years as a pelletizer and various other positions at Morton Salt in Silver Springs. He was a member of Family Life Church in Warsaw, and was a dedicated family man. Art enjoyed hunting, working on cars, crossword puzzles, and computer games. He was preceded in death by his son; Thomas Barr , his daughter; Suzanne Skiver, and two brothers; William and Kermit Barr. Survivors include his beloved wife of 57 years; Jean F. Ekroth Barr, whom he married on August 8 th 1964, a son; Michael P. (Tammy) Barr of Franklinville, a brother; Robert (Sheila) Barr of Concord, 8 grandchildren; Jennifer and Ryan Skiver, Carl, Brittney, and Laura Barr, Joshua and Jennifer Polcz and Samantha Barr. Friends of Arthur P. Barr may call on Friday, May 7 th from 3-6pm at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main Street Warsaw, NY 14569. Funeral services will be held 11am at the funeral home on Saturday, May 8 th 2021 with Pastor Christopher Lonneville of Family Life Church as Celebrant. Military honors will be conducted at the funeral home. Burial will be private in the Curriers Cemetery. Please visit www.weeksfuneral.com to offer online condolences.
