Arlene E. Brotherton, age 90 of South Main Street Warsaw, died Thursday, September 8th 2011at the Wyoming County Community Hospital. Arlene was born in Sheldon, New York January 21st 1921 the daughter of the late Earl and Leta Laird Keem. A lifetime resident of Wyoming County, she was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Arlene worked at various places over the years including Mallory Timers, the Warsaw Button Factory and more recently owned and operated her own ceramics studio which she ran for 35 years. She also loved working on the family farm, especially milking cows. Arlene enjoyed life and was very socially active. She liked to square dance, play cards, bird-watch, and sew. Arlene will be sadly missed by all of the people whose lives she touched. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert J. Brotherton, a sister, Elma Boyer, a brother Nelson Keem, and a grandson, Freddie Beck. Survivors include 2 sons; Robert "Skip" Brotherton of Warsaw, James (Dottie) Brotherton of Sun Lakes, AZ, 4 daughters; Donna Mann of Warsaw, Melody (Fred) Beck of Attica, Linda (Richard Owczarzak)Beck of Attica, Cindy (Bill) Johnson of Silver Springs, 29 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Peaches. Friends of Arlene Brotherton may call on Sunday, September 11th from 1-4pm at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main Street Warsaw. A funeral service will follow the calling at 4pm at the funeral home.
