Ardra "Jean" DeGroff Nisbet, age 71, of Salina Street Warsaw, died Saturday, September 4th 2010 at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo. She was born in Bath, N.Y. April 12th 1939 the daughter of the late Merlin E. and Emma K. Elliott Wren. Jean was a lifetime resident of Wyoming Co. and was a homemaker who also worked for five years at the Warsaw Wal Mart and volunteered for the Wyoming Co. Hospital and Nursing Facility in Warsaw. Jean was a terrific country cook and a very generous woman. She was known to drop everything in her life to help family or a friend.
She was predeceased by her first husband; John E. DeGroff, her second husband; Phillip Nisbet, a brother; Eugene Wren, a grandson; Robert Ashcraft, and a great grandson; Zachary Keller.
Survivors include a daughter; Deborah (Lester Balcom) Adams of Arcade, two sons; James (Kimberly) DeGroff of Bolivar, Donald (Shayne) DeGroff of Warsaw, two sisters; Norma Peters of Warsaw, Judith (Terry) Smith of St. Petersburg, FL, a brother; Stephen (Jina) Wren of VanEtten, NY, an aunt; Peggy Harrington of Rome, PA, 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Friends of Jean Nisbet may call on Wednesday, September 8th from 12-2pm at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main Street Warsaw followed by a funeral service at 2pm led by Pastor Dan Case of LaGrange Baptist Church.
Burial will be conducted privately in the East Koy Cemetery.
