Anna Virginia Norris Rapone, age 90, passed away Sunday, August 20th 2017 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw. She was born in Aberdeen, Maryland, May17th 1927, the daughter of the late Samuel Harvey Norris and Mabel Virginia Burkins Norris.
Anna was predeceased by a brother; Lt. Colonel Robert Osborn Norris, and two sisters; Charlotte Susan Foss and Sara Cassandra Norris, and three sons-in-law Glenn Wright, Mel O'Shea and Anthony Lovallo.
She was the much loved and cared for mother of 10 children, most of whom she raised on her own since 1966. They are; Mary G. Morgan, Carolyn A. (James) Penders, V. Susan Lovallo, and Margaret C. (Conrad) Gifford of Pavilion, David Rapone of Caledonia, Charles A. (Sue) Rapone of LeRoy, Jerry L. (Tammy) Rapone of Raleigh, NC, Gary L. (Lisa) Rapone of Batavia, Sami L. Rapone of Mumford, Sarah M. Rapone of Ogonquit, Maine. She leaves 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, a nephew; Dr. Michael Norris of Dallas, Texas and a cousin Mary Caron Kozub of Chestertown, Maryland.
Anna loved books and spent 21 years as a library clerk at the former Pavilion Public Library until her retirement, a position she loved. She also loved the holidays, time spent with family, working with her crosswords and Pizza. Anna was a gentle woman with a kind and loving spirit.
A time of fellowship and remembrance will be held Saturday, August 26th from 10-11am at the Pavilion United Methodist Church which will be followed by a memorial service at 11am conducted by Pastor Wilson Jones. Burial will be conducted privately at a later date in the Rock Run Methodist Cemetery in Darlington, Maryland. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Weeks Funeral Home 123 N.
