Alice L. Heck, age 82 of South Warsaw Road, died Sunday, February 1st 2009 at the Wyoming County Skilled Nursing facility in Warsaw. She was born in Rochester, April 6th 1926, the daughter of the late Winford H. Jr.and Marie L. Hebbe Lewis. Alice attended Highland School of Nursing but went on to teach business for the Greece School District for many years. She lived most of her life in Hamlin and recently moved to Warsaw. Alice was a longtime member of Hamlin United Methodist Church and she spent a lifetime helping others, especially children. She was a forty year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and enjoyed various crafts. Alice and her husband brought cheer and joy as clowns to many children with disabilities while they travelled together. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 39 years; Raymond W. Heck whom she married on January 23rd 1970. Survivors include 3 Sons; James L. (Cheryl) Cowley of Kendall, NY, Robert J. (Lorie) Cowley of Cana, VA, Mark R. Heck of Livonia, 7 Grandchildren, 1 Great-Grandchild and several nieces and nephews survive. A private memorial service will be held at a later date and memorials may be made to a children's charity of choice.
