Obituary

Albert A. Hept, age 99, of Pavilion, died peacefully, Wednesday, December 2nd 2009 at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home. Albert was born in Rochester, July 9th 1910, the son of the late Valentine and Mary Lombardo Hept. A lifetime resident of Wyoming County, Albert farmed with his father until he was thirty. He then went on to work at Stisser's Hardware and drove a school bus for Pavilion Central for thirty-five years before retiring from both in 1975. He was a member of St. Mary's Church in Pavilion. Albert enjoyed growing his own produce and canning, but most of all he enjoyed anything mechanical, including fixing things and tinkering. He touched many lives and was loved by all who knew him. Albert was predeceased by two wives, Mildred in 1975 and Josephine in 1998. Survivors from his first marriage include, five nieces, Jane Mateer of Rochester, June Ragano of Lake Worth, FL, Eleanor (Joseph) Graney of Auburn, Jeanne (Earl) Sellon of Rochester and Shirley Fess of Rochester. Survivors from his second marriage include two nieces, Emily (Stuart) Valentine of Potsdam, NY, Patricia (Thomas) McCabe of Waddington, NY, and a nephew, William Palch of Potsdam. Also surviving is a dear friend and neighbor, Heidi Jordan of Pavilion. Friends of Albert A. Hept may call on Friday, Dec. 4th from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main St. Warsaw. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Church in Pavilion at 10am, Saturday, Dec. 5th 2009 with Father Richard Cilano as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Pavilion Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Albert's name to St. Mary's Church or the Pavilion Rescue Squad.
